This is a list of changes made to Synchronize!. Version 3.1 May 31, 1994 • Synchronize! now runs on A/UX 3.0 and Macintosh Application Environment (MAE). • Synchronizing newer files in one direction only is now possible. Click the arrow to change the direction. Files will be copied in the direction shown. • When the Master box is checked, files in the folder the arrow points to will be replaced, even when they are being replaced by an OLDER file. This is not a change; Synchronize! has always worked this way. Now, however, the Master box no longer MUST be checked when the arrow points in only one direction. • The list of files to copy can now be put in the background. • Added "Don't open untitled windows at startup" to Preferences. • Added logging of copied files to Log Preferences. • Synchronize! is now aware of outline fonts, so that bitmap fonts are used for the main window and the list of files to copy. • Warning dialogs for the Master check boxes and the "Delete files and folders not in the Master Folder" check box were added. • The last left and right folders selected are remembered separately, to facilitate setting up multiple synchronization documents. • Invisible files and files on the desktop can be specifically included or excluded from a synchronization. • Selection of files "older than" or "newer than" a selected period of time, such as "3 days" or "5 weeks" is now possible. Choose "Copy only files..." or "Don't copy any files" from the Options menu. • Files and folders on the desktop are now copied when an entire disk is synchronized or backed up. Version 3.0.7 March 10, 1994 • Fixed a bug which caused system crashes and hangs (sorry) when conflict checking or "Sync deleted files" was enabled. • Holding down the Option key when clicking in the close box of a window will now close all windows. Version 3.0.6 February 28, 1994 • Added AppleScript dictionary support. The application is now scriptable. See the "AppleScript Support" topic for details. • Added the ability to scan folders in the background. • The "Can't find the disk" dialog is now automatically put away after 1 minute, so that other synchronizations can run when unattended. • Added AutoSync, a very small (37 K) background application which monitors timed synchronizations, and automatically opens Synchronize! at the appropriate times. • Fixed a bug which sometimes caused incorrect error messages when copying. Version 3.0.5 February 1, 1994 • Fixed a bug which made the "Cancel" button in the dialog asking whether to save a changed document invalid when quitting. Version 3.0.4 January 6, 1994 • Fixed a bug which caused "Start All" to crash with multiple documents. • Fixed a bug which caused multiple documents started at Quit or Shut Down to cause a crash. Version 3.0.3 December 30, 1993 • Fixed a problem with alias resolution. • Fixed a bug in which setting an unsaved document to start when disks are available hangs. • Fixed a problem which caused a hang if more than one document was set to start at Quit or Shut Down. Version 3.0.2 December 23, 1993 • Fixed a bug which causes a crash when syncing folders which are already the same. • Fixed a bug in which syncing periodically doesn't always work. Version 3.0.1 November 29, 1993 • Revised the Online Help. Version 3.0 November 19, 1993 Added the following features: • Hierarchical display of files and folders to be copied • Auto-Connect to a file server or AppleTalk Remote Access • Synchronization at a particular time, or periodically • Synchronization of deleted files • Conflict checking • Copy only the contents of certain folders • Activity Log • Log Preferences • Error Preferences
